Urban Governance for Sustainable Development in Asia
The Urban Unit participates in 'Urban Governance for Sustainable Development in Asia' workshop
The East West Center in partnership with the Asia Foundation, UNHABITAT, the United Cities & Local Governments Asia-Pacific and the Swedish International Center for Local Democracy organized a "Workshop on Urban Governance for Sustainable Development in Asia: Access to Services for Social Equity" from 21-23 July 2016 in Surabaya, Indonesia.
The Workshop was planned to discuss inclusive urban policies and programs that address planning and politics of public space. It focused on filling gaps between urban planning and urban realities and accommodating marginalized groups in urban governance.
Ms. Syeda Sani -e- Zehra, senior Urban Planner & Architect, the Urban Unit participated in Technical Session on "Urban Planning & Policy" presenting the case of Punjab, Pakistan with other speakers from Bangkok, Thailand and Suzhou, China.
